Aviator 401(k) Takes Flight at The Hartford

June 15, 2004 (PLANSPONSOR.com)—The Hartford Financial Services Group introduced its new Aviator 401(k), designed for plan sponsors with $3 million or more in plan assets.

The program offers access to 106 investment options from 25 money managers, with no proprietary investment option requirements, according to the firm.

The Aviator program is available through a group variable funding agreement and will be distributed through a national network of financial professionals.   Plan sponsors can choose to work with local third party administrators or choose to use a full-service platform.  Unless prior plan expenses are offset — an additional program feature, according to the Hartford – the platform has no contingent deferred sales charge.

They also have the option to choose among automated program features such as electronic:

  • loans,
  • enrollments,
  • payment and remittance, and
  • plan compliance services (available to full-service plans only)

TheHartford  offers the new program in all states except WA, WI, and PA, where Aviator I, a group variable annuity version of the program, is approved.
