Borzi EBSA Confirmation Moves to Senate Floor
July 8, 2009 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - The nomination of
Phyllis Borzi to be assistant secretary of labor for the
Labor Department's Employee Benefits Security Administration
(EBSA) is headed for the full U.S. Senate.

BNA reported the Borzi nomination passed the Health, Education, Labor, and Pension Committee by voice vote. Borzi still has to be confirmed by the full Senate.
Borzi, tapped for the job in March, is affiliated with Washington, D.C. law firm O’Donoghue & O’Donoghue (see Obama Makes Assistant Labor Secretary, EBSA Nomination ).
Borzi specializes in the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and other legal areas affecting employee benefit plans, including pensions and retirement savings, health plans, and discrimination based on age or disability.
