Calif. Firm Releases Candidate Background System

May 26, 2009 ( - The Lake Forest, California-based Accurate Background, Inc. has released a new system for pre-employment background screening.

A news release said AccurateNow allows small to medium-size businesses and human resource professionals a solution to create their own corporate account online and begin ordering comprehensive background checks on job applicants.

According to the announcement, available services include criminal history searches, sex offender registry searches, education and employment verifications, motor vehicle reports, and consumer credit reports. T he new offering provides the online training and documentation needed to be compliant with state and federal regulations.

For example, the company said if clients elect to use the National Criminal search option offered through AccurateNow, criminal history reported by that search will be automatically confirmed by AccurateNow for accuracy using county level services which are researched directly through the county courthouses.  A ccording to the company, the system generally streamlines their screening process and gets comprehensive information from reliable sources.  

“Many online providers offer ‘instant’ background screening information that comes solely from a nationwide database which can be unreliable as it is only as current as the information provided by the originating source,” said Catherine Aldrich, executive vice president of Accurate Background, in the news release.
