Ceridian, ABC Launch Backup Care Locator Tool

April 8, 2005 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Ceridian has announced the development of a new, Web-based Backup Care Locator to help employees gain access to alternative caregiver resources.

Allstate, Deloitte, IBM, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Texas Instruments – as members of the American Business Collaboration (ABC) – funded the development of the program along with Ceridian and made it available to their employees on April 6.

The ABC and Ceridian collaborated with the Family & Workplace Connection to identify childcare providers and elder care services with the capacity to deliver backup caregivers, according to the company.   The result is a national database that includes caregiver resources for children and elders, in addition to
well-care and mildly ill care.

The locator provides employees with information on alternative childcare providers and elder care services, and offers a wide array of caregiver resource information on services including childcare centers, family childcare providers, facilities that care for mildly ill children, in-home care agencies for children and elders, adult day care and assisted living facilities, and off-hours providers for weekends and evenings.

Ceridian ( www.myceridian.com ) is a human resources management firm.
