Ceridian Announces Time and Attendance/Scheduling System

October 17, 2006 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Ceridian has announced the launch of a new, automated time and attendance and scheduling system.

A Ceridian news release said the offering will enable employers to more quickly complete attendance and scheduling processes while also developing detailed reports and analyses on employee productivity, absence management and other workforce management issues. The system can help employers more easily achieve their revenue and profitability objectives by delivering stronger staffing tools and labor cost analytics, Ceridian said.

According to the company, Ceridian’s expanded time and attendance and scheduling offerings can be scaled for small businesses with 100-500 employees, midsize companies with 500-5,000 employees and for employers with more than 5,000 employees.

From a single application, employers can view on one screen their employees’ time accounting information, absences and leave balances. They also can access an analytics reporting tool to run reports showing real-time measurements about hours worked, labor distribution and project management.

The ability to create graphical daily, weekly or monthly dashboards also is available to monitor information such as approaching overtime, project hours, scheduled versus worked and job-costing data.

“An employer’s time and attendance data can and should be so much more than an input into the payroll process,” said Sharon Stein, senior vice president of HR/Payroll for Ceridian, in the news release. “With employers facing increased challenges around employee productivity and absenteeism, they should be, now more than ever, seeking additional and more improved ways to analyze how they are managing their workforce’s schedules and what steps they can take to improve their time management systems and processes.”

Ceridian has formed an alliance with  CyberShift, a provider of workforce and expense management software and services, to deliver this time and attendance and scheduling system to Ceridian’s target market. The two companies will work in cooperation on the rollout of this product to Ceridian prospects and customers.

Other key features of the new system, which will be available in mid November, include employee and manager self-service functions and leave policies.

Applications are available in multinational currencies and multiple languages. Ceridian said the new system also helps employers meet compliance obligations under Statement on Auditing Standards (SAS) 70, Sarbanes-Oxley, and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
