Ceridian Service Helps Workers With Finances, Lifestyle

November 11, 2003 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Ceridian, a Minneapolis, Minnesota-based HR outsourcer, has unveiled a holistic program that includes a 401(k) plan as well as help in planning both financial and non-financial aspects of an employee's later life.

According to a Ceridian news release, its Midlife and Retirement Plan Services product provides optional services to educate employees on financial planning and other aspects of life planning for retirement including employer benefits, savings strategies, estate planning, investments, and credit management.

The new product features online services that include access to informative materials, self-assessments, and financial calculators. Telephone services include discussions with financial specialists on issues such as budget review and debt counseling, as well as on array of lifestyle-related matters. A wide variety of print material is also available on topics from aging well and making the most of midlife to second careers and relationships in later life.

In addition, the services help workers plan non-financial aspects of their midlife and retirement, such as relocating, traveling, volunteering, and continuing their education.

“This holistic, next-generation solution addresses a well-documented need that speaks to a broad spectrum of concerns employees have with regard to their futures,” said Pat Goepel, chief revenue officer at Ceridian US Human Resource Solutions. “Employees now face retirements that often last decades. While they may have saved for retirement, many have not done any life planning for what they will do during this period.”
