Ceridian's New Planning Tool Includes Non-Financial Retirement Issues

August 11, 2005 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Ceridian has added a new online retirement planning tool to its LifeWorks Online work-life and employee assistance program (EAP) Web site.

The new tool adds life planning and non-financial aspects of retirement such as relocating, volunteering, and lifelong learning, to its financial education and financial planning assistance, according to a company news release.

Employees of companies that offer the EAP services as part of their benefits can complete a series of questions and rankings exercises online and will be provided with customized reports that include links to articles and resource lists.   The company says the tool prompts employees to think about how they want to live in their retirement years and provides a plan of action they can start on now to get the life they want.

“Traditional retirement planning focused solely on financial retirement plans is failing a majority of American workers. Retirement plans should not start with finances only. Rather they should begin with what one wants to accomplish personally and professionally. Those individual goals should drive a person’s financial goals and planning,” Diane Piktialis, director of work-life services for Ceridian, said in the news release.

The company recently updated its EAP Web site with streaming videos on life issues (See  Ceridian Adds Streaming Video HR Offerings to Web Site ).

Ceridian provides human resource outsourcing including payroll and compensation, staffing, compliance, HR administration and employee effectiveness.   Information on its products can be found at www.myceridian.com .
