CitiStreet Opens Data Unit

July 5, 2006 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - CitiStreet unveiled a centralized client data management group to help plan sponsors manage their benefits administration data, including conversion, cleanup, process consulting and ongoing maintenance and controls.

According to a CitiStreet news release, the company has tapped Cort Raithel to run the new unit.

CitiStreet Data Management will provide specialized staff to perform manual research of benefits files or fiche as well as recommend and execute global correction strategies, according to the announcement. In addition to legacy data issues, the news release said the group will also be involved in regular data maintenance such as monitoring and resolving data feed errors. Reports and reconciliations provided by the team will ensure consistent data across multiple benefits vendors and will support Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, the news release said.

Raithel most recently founded and led the data consulting practice for Fidelity Employer Services Company. He worked for Fidelity for eight years and before that was a benefits consultant for Towers Perrin in Boston. He is a graduate of Harvard University. Raithel and his team will be based in CitiStreet’s Jacksonville , Florida location.

Each CitiStreet client will have a consultant to manage the data activities as well as provide strategic data advice. The group will also provide advice to data-challenged companies or institutions and help prepare them for outsourcing, the announcement said.
