Dattilo to Head Money Management Firm

January 30, 2003 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Pittsburgh investment executive Thomas Dattilo has joined Garrison Institutional Asset Management, which has been formed through a transaction with RRZ Investment Management Inc.

According to a news media announcement, Dattilo will acquire an ownership interest in Garrison and will serve as its chairman and chief investment officer. He will assume overall control of the firm’s investment strategy and style. Most of Dattilo’s clients are pension funds, according to the announcement.

Dattilo was one of the original employees of RRZ and also served as president and chief investment officer at Commonwealth Investment Management. Garrison has more than $350 million of assets under management.

According to the announcement, Garrison’s main investment management products will center around four areas:

  • active risk-enhanced management of large-cap domestic stocks
  • risk-controlled portfolios consisting of high quality corporate bonds, US Treasury notes, mortgages, and cash management
  • balanced accounts
  • growth equity.
