Diversified Turns to Ed Ryan for TRO Post

Investment Advisors has tapped Ed Ryan as senior vice
president for Total Retirement Services, the company
announced Friday.

Ryan, who comes to Diversified from MassMutual, will lead Diversified’s total retirement outsourcing (TRO) services as well as direct its Newton, Massachusetts defined benefit operations, according to a Diversified news release.
The announcement said Ryan has spent three decades at MassMutual – most recently as senior vice president of operations, based in Springfield, Massachusetts. Ryan also was senior vice president of sales from 2002 to 2005. He joined MassMutual in 1976 as vice president of marketing.
He has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Boston College and an MBA from Suffolk University.
“The Pension Protection Act and shifting trends in defined benefit plans present tremendous opportunities for continued growth,” said Diversified President and Chief Operating Officer Peter Kunkel in the statement. “Ed’s previous success in guiding and directing operations, as well as his progressive vision of quality service delivery will be instrumental to our plan to further develop our state of the art TRO capabilities.”
