EBSA to Hold Webcast on Participant Fee Disclosure
September 7, 2011 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - To help plan fiduciaries and their service providers, the U.S. Department of Labor’s Employee Benefit Security Administration (EBSA) is providing a Webcast on the final rule to improve the transparency of fees and expenses for workers in 401(k)-type retirement plans.
Reported by Rebecca Moore
The rule addresses a plan administrator’s disclosure responsibilities in cases where the plan allows participants to direct their own investments. This includes taking steps to ensure these participants and beneficiaries are given, or have access to, information they need to make informed decisions and meaningfully compare the investment options under their plan.
The Webcast on September 13 at 1 p.m. EDT will discuss the scope of the new regulation, its content requirements, and the recently extended compliance dates.
