Fidelity Offers Retirement Plan Access "To Go"

August 19, 2002 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Fidelity Investments is giving retirement plan information some real "get up and go."

The mutual fund giant announced that 401(k) and 403(b) clients with OnStar-equipped vehicles have access to Fidelity’s wireless services to allow them to monitor and manage their accounts via OnStar’s voice-enabled Virtual Advisor.

Using Virtual Advisor, retirement plan participants can access balances, obtain quotes, perform fund exchanges and speak with a service representative, hands-free from their vehicles.

Plan participants can also monitor and manage their portfolios via handheld computers, one-and two-way pagers, and Web phones, Fidelity said in the announcement.

Last May Fidelity began providing to its retail brokerage customers in-vehicle access to account balances and holdings, quotes, watch lists, market information, and wireless trading.
