Fidelity Selects New DB Marketing, Product Head

October 21, 2004 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Fidelity Investments has tapped a former Putnam Investment executive as its new head of marketing and product development for Fidelity's defined benefit business.

A Fidelity announcement said that Sandra Whiston has been appointed executive vice president of Investment Services where she will lead Strategic Services, a team of professionals who conduct planwide, portfolio-specific, and risk management projects for Fidelity clients.

Whiston, who brings more than 30 years of institutional investment management experience to Fidelity, reports to Drew Lawton, president of Fidelity Management Trust Company. Whiston joins Fidelity from Putnam Investments, where she held positions of increased responsibility since 1987. Most recently, she was managing director and head of relationship management for the company’s institutional business. Prior to that, she was deputy director for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Pension Reserves Investment Management Board.
