Berman will be responsible for developing new business in the over $50 million corporate and nonprofit defined contribution market in Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. Berman is based in Chicago and will report to Pete Margiotta, national sales director; he replaces Dan Schatz, who moved to a similar position in Texas.
According to the announcement, Berman comes to Great-West Retirement Services from Marshall and Ilsley Trust Company, where he was vice president and sales director. He has also held defined contribution market sales positions at Principal Financial Group and ABN Amro.
Berman graduated from Bradley University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, and also holds FINRA Series 6 and 63 securities registrations and life and health insurance licenses.
“We’re pleased to have a person with Mark’s skills and experience as part of our sales team,” said Chris Cumming, senior vice president of defined contribution markets, in the announcement. “He understands the adviser, consultant and plan sponsor communities and takes the initiative to both meet their needs and address their longer-term wishes.”
