Hartford Offers New Travel Assistance Program

November 11, 2002 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Emergency medical assistance, emergency personal services and pre trip information are now available to Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc. clients at no additional cost.

Hartford’s group life and disability insurance customers can now make these services available to workers who are traveling 100 miles or more from home, including international travel:

  • Emergency medical assistance – offering medical referrals, monitoring, emergency medical payments, replacement of medication and eyeglasses and the return home of a traveling companion.
  • Emergency personal services – offering sending and receiving urgent messages, emergency travel arrangements, emergency cash advances, location of lost or stolen items, legal assistance or bail, and interpretation/translation services
  • Pre trip information – obtaining information on VISAs, passports, inoculation and immunization requirements, cultural information, embassy, and consular referrals, travel advisories and foreign exchange rates.

Offered in conjunction with Worldwide Assistance Services, Inc. Hartford is offering these new services in response to customer requests for more travel assistance.

“Just as it is necessary to have coverage to replace your income in the event of a disability or death, people are finding it increasingly necessary to have coverage that allows them to obtain assistance and answers – or to connect with their loved ones – in the event of the unexpected”, says Terry Cohen, senior vice president of Hartford Life’s customer service operations.
