HedgeFund.net Releases New Analysis Tool

April 28, 2003 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - HedgeFund.net has launched a new data service allowing investors to download hedge fund performance data into Microsoft Excel and Access formats.

DataExport, available to registered, accredited users of HedgeFund.net, allows investors to import performance data on more than 2,100 hedge funds into proprietary models, where the data can be sorted, organized and analyzed, according to a news release.

The data fields available in DataExport include:

  • performance histories
  • fund descriptions
  • primary and secondary strategies
  • qualitative information (such as accounting firms and prime brokers)
  • contact information.

Also included in DataExport are the TUNA hedge fund averages, which investors can use to analyze the aggregate performance of hedge funds and hedge fund strategies.

DataExport is a complement to HedgeFund.net’s other performance tool, PerTrac Online (See New Hedge Fund Tool Unveiled ), which provides the same performance data, but on a Web-based analytics platform.   DataExport is available for annual subscription on the HedgeFund.net Web site. The service costs $3,500 per year and allows for an unlimited number of downloads.
