April 29, 2010 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Hewitt Associates has expanded its U.S. Investment Consulting practice with the addition of six new consultants.

Claire Shaughnessy has joined Hewitt as a senior investment consultant, responsible for advising clients on investment issues as they relate to pension funds, savings plans, and endowment and foundation funds. Experienced investment actuaries, Alan Parikh and Eric Friedman have joined Hewitt as senior pension risk consultants responsible for helping companies optimize their investment policies, contribution policies, and plan designs, and advising Hewitt’s clients on implementing and monitoring investment strategies.

Carol Chan and David Barnes have joined Hewitt as Manager Research Consultants, and Nicole Kang as a Research Analyst. All three are responsible for meeting with portfolio management organizations to assess their skills and capabilities as well as the appropriateness of their investment strategies for client portfolios.

Prior to Hewitt, Shaughnessy spent 10 years at Rogerscasey in a number of senior positions, most recently as a managing director responsible for providing a full range of investment consulting services to her clients. Prior to joining Hewitt, Parikh and Friedman were both principals in Mercer’s Investment Consulting practice.

Chan joins Hewitt from Dun and Bradstreet Corporation, where she was responsible for managing the investments of the company’s global pension and 401(k) plans. Barnes re-joins Hewitt’s Investment Consulting practice from Watson Wyatt Investment Consulting, where he was a senior member of the global equity, non-U.S. equity, emerging markets equity, and transition management research teams.

Kang previously worked at Citigroup, where she performed due diligence on equity managers to create customized portfolios for high net worth and institutional clients.
