House Directory Has Benefits Programs Updates

May 3, 2004 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Benefits managers and plan advisors and consultants now have a new information source when it comes to several prominent programs affecting human resources.

Congressman Bill Thomas (R-California), Chairman of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Ways and Means, unveiled the 2004 edition of the report, “Background Material and Data on the Programs within the Jurisdiction of the Committee on Ways and Means.”

Informally known as the Green Book, the report updates data on programs such as:

  • Tax issues relating to Retirement, Health, Employment, Disability, and other Social Issues
  • The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation
  • Social Security
  • Unemployment compensation
  • Medicare

Compiled by the Ways and Means staff with the help of the Congressional Research Service and various Federal agencies, since its first publication in 1981 the 2004 edition contains over 500 detailed tables and charts and includes more than 1,500 pages, providing detailed data.
