HSA Group Releases Information Booklet
December 9, 2004 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - The HSA
Coalition, an organization that supports health savings
accounts, has released a guidebook to the new health
plans.
Reported by Kip McDaniel
The “HSA Road Rules for Consumers, Employers, Insurers, Banks, Credit Unions, and Administration” booklet provides condensed information on the accounts from the Treasury Department’s own guidance book on the health plans. The aim, according to the group, is to bring clarity to how HSAs work, and to accelerate their adoption.
HSAs are tax-free health savings vehicles that were created in the 2003 Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement and Modernization Act.
The booklet is available here , while the Treasury information is available here .
