HSA Group Releases Information Booklet

December 9, 2004 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - The HSA Coalition, an organization that supports health savings accounts, has released a guidebook to the new health plans.

The “HSA Road Rules for Consumers, Employers, Insurers, Banks, Credit Unions, and Administration” booklet provides condensed information on the accounts from the Treasury Department’s own guidance book on the health plans. The aim, according to the group, is to bring clarity to how HSAs work, and to accelerate their adoption.

HSAs are tax-free health savings vehicles that were created in the 2003 Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement and Modernization Act.
