Ibbotson Appoints New CIO

September 7, 2004 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Peng Chen has been tapped as chief investment officer (CIO) for Ibbotson Associates.

The company said in a news release that Chen will be responsible for setting the company’s asset allocation and investment decision-making process. He will also continue to oversee the research group.

“Since joining the company in 1997, Peng Chen has been instrumental in steering the direction of Ibbotson’s asset allocation policy and implementation process,” said Michael Henkel, president of Ibbotson Associates, in the announcement.

Chen is managing director and head of research at Ibbotson Associates. He earned his bachelor’s degree in industrial management engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology and his master’s and doctorate in consumer economics from Ohio State University.
