MetLife Adds Mstar Learning Station for K Plans

March 3, 2005 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - MetLife Retirement & Savings has added the Morningstar Learning Station as a new source of online educational content on the participant Web site for MetLife's 401(k) clients.

The Morningstar Learning Station, provided by Morningstar Associates, is available to participants of MetLife’s MetPremier and MetSelect retirement plan programs.

The investment tools on the Learning Station system help participants understand the implications of compounding, risk and return, and other concepts. Morningstar’s library of articles covers such topics as the basics of retirement plans, fundamentals of retirement planning, establishing financial goals, setting a personal investment strategy, distribution planning and suggestions for dealing with major life events.

“MetLife offers an effective education program that we continually strengthen and expand to help 401(k) participants prepare for their retirement,” said William Slater, vice president, MetLife Retirement & Savings, in the news release. “Now, with the introduction of the Morningstar Learning Station, plan participants — for the small and mid-market plans we administer — will have access to a wide range of planning tools and informative articles covering a range of issues, such as budgeting, saving and planning for the future.”
