MFS New Hire to Enhance Canadian Presence

February 10, 2010 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - MFS Investment Management announced that Christine Girvan has joined the firm as a Managing Director and will oversee sales in the Canadian market for MFS Institutional Advisors, Inc., the institutional asset management subsidiary of MFS.

She will report to Christopher (Topher) Callahan, Senior Managing Director ‐‐ North American Institutional Sales and Relationship Management. Girvan joins Torontobased Sarah Donahue, Director, who has been working to build MFSI’s business in Canada over the past two years, according to the announcement.    

Most recently, Girvan was the CEO of Fortis Investment Management Canada Ltd. and was responsible for business development and client servicing, as well as strategy, for the Canadian office. Prior to joining Fortis, Girvan was an officer with Guardian Capital, Inc., a large Canadian investment counselor, where her primary responsibility was the servicing of institutional and thirdparty clients for global products. Previously, she was a portfolio manager for Credit Lyonnais Asset Management of France.   

Girvan graduated from the University of Lyon, France, with a master’s degree in portfolio management and financial planning.
