Milliman to Acquire Retirement Consulting Firm

August 10, 2006 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Consulting and actuarial firm Milliman Inc. announced it has reached an agreement to purchase the assets of Lawrence Johnson & Associates (LJA), a retirement and employee benefits consulting firm.

LJA provides plan design, implementation, administration, recordkeeping, actuarial and compliance services for its clientele, according to the announcement. Its clients are principally in the western US.

LJA has been providing retirement plan consulting and related services since 1982, the announcement said. The LJA management team will remain in place.

The acquisition is expected to close September 1, 2006.

Seattle-based Milliman has consulting practices in employee benefits, health care, life insurance/financial services, and property and casualty insurance.
