Mutual of Omaha Tacks on CDH Plan

June 18, 2003 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Mutual of Omaha announced today that it has added a Consumer-Driven Health Plan (CDHP) to the company's portfolio of employee benefit coverages.

Mutual of Omaha said the company’s CDHP is a high-deductible medical plan coupled with an employer-funded reimbursement account for each employee. The plan features three main components: the health reimbursement account, group health coverage (medical and prescription drug plans) and support tools such as online access to medical claims status, HRAaccount balances, and prescription drug information.

The prescription drug benefit portion features a separate smaller deductible and coinsurance to better support consumers with chronic conditions, while still engaging them in the cost of their prescriptions, Mutual of Omaha said. Other plan options include nurse support services, debit card payment, and an employee assistance program.

Mutual of Omaha clients now include more than 5,900 employers with 4 million employees, spouses and dependents.
