New Source Opens For Market Anomaly Information

June 1, 2004 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Plan sponsors have a new resource to turn to for information about market anomalies.

The Web site, simply enough called MarketAnomalies.com, allows anomaly developers a central place to exhibit their methodologies and also provides potential users with a quick way to review current anomalies, according to a news release. The site describes anomalies in three levels of detail:

  • a brief summary;
  • a page-length description available by link;
  • a full presentation.

To be included on the site, each anomaly must conform to the definition of an anomaly as provided by Manhattan quantitative evaluation and development firm QED International Associates, Inc.   “An anomaly is a persistent and systematic differential of investment   returns, relative to a benchmark portfolio, that cannot be explained by systematic risk factors.”
