Carolyn Bracks joins Northern Trust as the new director of participant communications, and Thomas Lauer has moved within the firm to be named defined contribution asset servicing consultant. The new positions, according to Bill Morrison, Northern Trust president and chief operating officer (COO), will strengthen the firm’s ability to offer multifaceted investment and operational solutions to defined contribution plan clients.
As director of participant communications, Bracks will work with plan sponsors and employers to develop and deliver communication strategies that engage participants. Previously, she served as a consultant with Towers Watson and Mercer.
Lauer’s new duties include supporting the design, construction and ongoing servicing of DC plans. He will work with recordkeepers and other industry consultants to create customized and efficient plan solutions. Lauer has worked with Northern Trust for more than 20 years in a number of roles.
