Northwestern Mutual Forms Asset Management Arm
February 20, 2002 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Consolidating
a number of investment responsibilities that had existed in
various areas throughout its companies, Northwestern Mutual
has formed Mason Street Advisors, an asset management
firm.

The new company will provide investment advisory services to Northwestern Mutual, Mason Street Funds, and the separate accounts for Northwestern Mutual’s variable life and annuity products.
Mark Doll, senior vice president for public markets at Northwestern Mutual, has been named president of the new company.
Mason Street Advisors employs approximately 50 people, many of whom were in the public markets department of Northwestern Investment Management Company.
