January 8, 2002 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - The New York region may be battling recession and the fallout of September 11, but 76% of companies polled are still actively hiring permanent staff, a recent survey of HR executives in the New York tri-state area reveals.

The survey by TMP Worldwide eResourcing North America, found that among the companies currently recruiting:

  • some 45% are seeking to fill senior management positions,
  • over a third are looking for candidates in information technology, and

Of those companies not currently recruiting, the majority reported that they expect to begin recruiting again within the next six months.
