NYLBS Unveils Participant Ed Workshops

July 10, 2001 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - New York Life Benefit Services (NYLB) has introduced a series of educational seminars on investing and financial-planning topics for retirement plan participants.

The four workshops, to be rolled out on a client-by-client basis this month, will focus on:

  • market volatility
  • basic investing
  • advanced investing
  • approaching retirement.

The interactive seminars will supplement existing educational programs and meetings offered through New York Life?s participant education program.

New York Life?s campaign management staff will help plan sponsors identify and steer participants to the most appropriate of the new workshops.

The company will distribute customized invitations and monitoring the automated phone reservation line for participants.

“Once the client decides to offer the workshops, we can take care of all the details,” said Susan Schochet, NYLB vice president of communications and conversions. ” By monitoring the reservation line, we can determine quickly if more workshop sessions are needed and schedule them.”

Participants who attend the workshops can follow along in take-home workbooks that include additional exercises and information.
