OnlineBenefits Acquires eBenefits Assets

Included in the acquisition is the technology and customer base for eBenefits’ VirtualHR, a Human Resources Management System (HRMS) for small and mid-sized employers. VirtualHR enables HR staff, managers and employees to use the Internet to manage the major HR functions associated with employee data. Among those functions:

  • employee recordkeeping
  • skills and education inventory
  • to do lists
  • performance management
  • time-off tracking
  • recruiting
  • benefits administration

OnlineBenefits will immediately add the product to its Benergy product line, intending to market VirtualHR to companies with fewer than 500 employees through its insurance broker channel. Benergy and VirtualHR, which share similar technologies and interfaces, will be integrated by OnlineBenefits to foster employee and manager self-service. Additionally, OnlineBenefits announced it will assume VirtualHR’s customer base.
