The database will allow service providers to compare and contrast a single menu of investments against numerous platforms, or two different investment menus against the same or different platforms, to identify the best revenue sharing deals.
The effective date of the regulatory disclosure obligations under ERISA Section 408(b)2, including the disclosure of indirect compensation, is January 1, 2012. According to PlanTools, this tool is the only comprehensive system currently available to assist service providers in meeting their 408(b)2 reporting obligations.
The system will be sold exclusively to service providers, and is integrated with expense analysis, fee benchmarking and 408(b)2 reporting.
“This new functionality gives our users the data they need to efficiently and effectively report on and compare revenue sharing by various platforms to produce expense analysis, benchmarking and 408(b)2 reporting,” said David Witz, Managing Director of PlanTools, LLC.
