Principal Appoints Director of New Business Development

October 5, 2004 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - The Principal Financial Group has announced the hiring of Henry Tebben as the group's director of new business development for defined benefit (DB) plans.

Tebben, a chartered financial analyst, will join the staff in the expanding DB sales team. According to a news release from the Principal, Tebben has 20 years of industry experience. Before coming to the Principal, Tebben was a portfolio director and regional vice president at Manulife Financial. He has also served in sales and investment consulting at Merrill Lynch, INVESCO, and Pension Portfolio Advisors. Tebben holds an MBA from Emory University.

Tebben will be responsible for working with the intermediary community and providing education for the DB market, according to the release.

The Principal Financial Group ( www.principal.com ) offers multiple financial products and services, such as retirement investment and life and health insurance. The Principal has $152.1 billion in assets under management.
