Principal Offers Second Opinion Dental Program

The new Second Opinion Program, designed to help employees take control of their oral health, gives employees a chance to compare costs and better understand the available treatment options.     

Through the program, dental insurance members seeking another opinion regarding a dental procedure present a voucher to the dentist during the second opinion visit. The member can seek second opinions on an unlimited basis, often at no additional cost.

According to a press release, by visiting The Principal Dental Health Edge, located on www.principal.com, members can access information on procedures, treatments plans, network providers, and basic oral health information. The site includes a cost estimator, which calculates dental costs in a given ZIP code and a database of network providers who offer discounted charges and fees.
