Private Equity Investments Predicated To Double

June 14, 2002 (PLANSPONSOR.com)- US and European pension funds are expected to double their allocations in private equity investments over the next ten years according to a new report by the Economist Intelligence Unit in conjunction with Apax Partners.

The report also noted that easier access to private equity funds for investors and better exit opportunities through financial markets will help promote the sector in upcoming years.

At the same time, the survey noted that northern Europe is now more conducive to entrepreneurs than the US.

The survey pointed out that although the US remains the world leader in private equity and entrepreneurship, northern European countries will prove the most fertile for entrepreneurs, with the Netherlands, Denmark, and the UK filling the top three positions.

According to the study, other European countries attractive to private equity include Switzerland, Finland, Sweden, Germany and France.
