REITs Continue Upward March With 9% Q3 Gain

Investment Trusts (REIT) continue to shine in 2003, as the
NAREIT Composite has increased by 33.88% year-to-date through
November.

The performance was further amplified by the third quarter’s 9.01% gain that saw all three months finish in the black (5.24%, 0.43% and 3.15% respectively), according to data provided by the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT).
By comparison, the US Treasury 10-Year Note increased 0.50% year to date. Other indices – The Dow Jones Industrial, S&P 500 and NASDAQ Composite – were also up over the year – 17.27%, 22.27%, and 46.78%, respectively.
