Bill Stout leads private market strategy at Vanguard and Transamerica hires Jason Frain as head of retirement solutions.
Bill Stout Joins Vanguard as Head of Private Markets Strategy
Bill Stout joined Vanguard in July as head of private markets strategy, according to a LinkedIn post Stout published last month.
Stout brings more than two decades of asset management and investor relations experience, most recently serving as head of global client group strategy and business development at Nuveen from June 2023 to March 2025. He was senior managing director and head of alternative investments business development at the firm for seven years before his more recent role there.
Transamerica Taps Jason Frain to Lead Retirement Solutions
Jason Frain has joined Transamerica Corp. as head of retirement solutions, leading product strategy and development, effective August 25. He reports to Jamie Ohl, president of protection solutions and savings and investments.
“Jason is a proven product leader who blends actuarial rigor with commercial instincts,” said Ohl, in a statement. “His track record shaping retirement and annuity products—while keeping customer needs and risk discipline front and center—will accelerate our momentum as we build the leading middle-market life insurance and retirement company.”
Frain previously held senior roles in product development, pricing and strategy, including at The Guardian Life Insurance Co. of America, and most recently at Brighthouse Financial. He is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
