RetirementJobs.com Connects Employers with Older Workers

May 16, 2006 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Newly launched RetirementJobs.com provides employers with a single resource that connects them with job candidates over age 50.

RetirementJobs.com contains tens of thousands of job listings. The job database is specialized for job seekers over age 50, according to a news release.

In addition to a job board, the Web site offers resources to its visitors such as advice, news, success stories and money tips. It also features radio-style conversations playable online that are led by former executives of CNN.

A recent survey from AARP, conducted by Towers Perrin, showed that hiring older workers cost companies little and, in return, provided unusually well-motivated workers (See AARP: Hiring Older Workers Makes Financial Sense ).   Employers should also consider an older workforce as the pending baby boomer retirement threatens them with labor shortages (See More Focus Needed on Boomer Retirements Effects).

Another recent survey from HSBC Holdings found that many workers want to continue working in retirement and employers are not providing enough opportunities to the aging (See Study Shows People Worldwide Want Self-Sufficient Retirement ).
