RI Firm Announces Plan Consulting Service

June 21, 2006 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - A Providence, Rhode Island-based retirement plan consulting firm has unveiled a new service designed to identify potential problem areas in participant accounts.

style=”MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt”> According to a news release from J. W. Thompson Investments, the company’s Retire Rite service initiates multiple contacts with participants to encourage them to make changes to their savings plan by providing them with “rationale and a clear action path.”

style=”MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt”> For the plan sponsor, Retire Rite documents every contact between plan sponsors and participants, as well as what actions were taken, according to the news release. Plan sponsors can use the documentation in court to show how they acted as a fiduciary if they are ever involved in a fiduciary breach lawsuit, the release said.
