Russell Offers New Benchmark for Global Mandates

October 22, 2010 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Russell Investments has launched a new global benchmark to offer investors increased flexibility in their global mandate.

The Russell World Cap Index combines the U.S. broad-market Russell 3000 Index and the Russell Global ex-U.S. Large Cap Index, and it currently comprises 5,193 securities and about 93% of the Russell Global Index.

“The Russell World Cap Index emulates the current investing behavior of U.S. institutional investors who typically include small cap stocks in their domestic portfolios, but exclude them from their non-domestic portfolios,” said Lori Richards, a managing director for Russell Investments, in a press release.

Routine maintenance of the Index includes daily corporate actions, monthly share adjustments, quarterly IPO inclusions, and annual total reconstitution in order to ensure that it accurately represents the true global opportunity set.

Daily returns for the Russell World Cap Index are available at http://www.russell.com/Indexes/data/Global_Equity/russell_global_returns.asp.
