Scarborough Group Offers Ibbotson's Asset Allocation
January 10, 2002 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - The Scarborough Group Inc., an investment advisory firm, will provide 401(k) participants with asset allocation modeling and research from Ibbotson Associates.
Reported by Camilla Klein
Under the agreement, Ibbotson Associates will provide asset class modeling for the 73 savings plans for which The Scarborough Group currently manages assets.
The agreement, under which the service will be paid for using plan assets, is modeled after guidance issued recently by the Labor Department to SunAmerica Retirement Markets (see DoL Lowers Another Advice Barrier ).
The guidance permits plan sponsors to automatically direct participant money into managed accounts unless they opt out and use plan assets to pay for the one-stop investment management service.
