SeniorAdvocate Offers Workers Eldercare Benefits

May 18, 2001 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - An employee benefit that provides legal, financial planning and independent living services for workers who take care of their elders has been introduced by the ARAG Group, an advisory plan administrator.

Employees who use the product, SeniorAdvocate, have access to three distinct areas:

  • Legal services that allow members to consult with attorneys who have an interest in eldercare and senior-related issues.
  • Financial services, which give individuals access to financial planning assistance from trained financial counselors.
  • Independent living services, which provide members with over-the-phone advice from adult care specialists who assist employees in determining the living needs of their elder relatives.

The specialists, available 24-hours a day, will assess the elder’s health and care needs and work directly with the employee to explore viable solutions.

In creating SeniorAdvocate, the ARAG group, which provides the legal component of the product, teamed up with The Ayco Company, L.P., which provides the financial planning component and LifeCare, Inc a human services organization, which provides the independent living portion of the product.
