SLPrime is the company’s new product, which will offer trade execution, marketing and consulting services to combine with Merrill’s global brokerage and clearing capabilities, according to a news release. Silver Leaf will act as an introducing broker to Merrill in the arrangement.
The services offered through SLPrime include:

- Portfolio Accounting Reports
- Marketing and Distribution Services
- Turnkey Office Solutions
- Single-Point-of-Contact Customer Service
The Silver Leaf management team is run by former buy-side professionals with experience in hedge funds, according to the release. They have built the prime brokerage service with small and medium funds as their focus, the release states. The firm also noted that the large number of hedge fund start-ups in the past year influenced their decision to start this service.
