St. Paul Travelers Companies Offers Disaster Preparedness Tool for Businesses

June 15, 2006 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - A subsidiary of property insurer The St. Paul Travelers Companies, Inc. is offering two online tools and a training class to help businesses with disaster preparedness planning.

According to the announcement, the tools will help Travelers customers create customized disaster recovery plans that will ensure optimum business continuity in the event of exposures from natural or manmade disasters.

“Emergency planning should be at the top of every “To Do” list for today’s businesses,” said Bob Brody, Senior Vice President, Travelers Risk Control, in the announcement.

The solution offers Disaster Preparedness and Business Continuity Management, an exposure guide available to customers and agents on a CD-ROM that gives a step-by-step guide for business continuity planning. The offering includes help with:

  • Hurricane preparedness;
  • Natural disaster protection, response and recovery;
  • Property and equipment recovery guidelines;
  • Health precautions;
  • A general overview of business continuity planning;
  • FEMA emergency management guide for business and industry.

In addition, the solution contains an interactive Web-tool to help small-to medium-sized businesses create disaster plans. The product also includes an added course to its Safety Academy agenda that focuses on business continuity.
