State Street Adds Private Equity, Real Estate Data to Dashboard

For private equity and real estate investment professionals, the Investment Analytics Dashboard now provides performance and analytical information including look-through capabilities to the underlying assets – both company and property, according to the announcement. State Street’s Dashboard captures partnership-level data for more than 2,500 unique private equity and 500 unique real estate investments.

For each asset type, relevant performance data is provided, including long-term internal rates of return for private equity and time-weighted returns. Customers may choose from performance calculations over multiple frequencies and valuation options, such as monthly (cash-adjusted values), quarterly (General Partner values), or a customized option, the announcement said. Historical data can also be integrated into the Dashboard, enabling trend analysis for key metrics such as internal rates of return, contributions, and distributions.

The Dashboard also aggregates performance and exposure information across each customer’s entire plan, including public and private holdings for returns and exposures.

Access to the private equity and real estate Dashboard is available to institutional plan sponsor clients of State Street’s Private Edge service. State Street said it plans to roll out additional enhancements to the Investment Analytics Dashboard throughout 2009 as well as to continue to create more customized dashboards to meet the needs of different types of investment professionals.
