Roughly one-in-five were planning to watch. Of those most – just under 14% – said “you betcha”, and just over 4% said yes, that they were still trying to make up their mind. About 2% said they would be watching – but only to make sure they didn’t miss the World Series.
Nearly as many – 18.4% – said they hadn’t decided if they would watch or not.
The rest – roughly 60% were split between “no”, “no way in…”, or “other” – each in about equal measure, as it turns out – were basically a “no” because they were basically “campaigned out” (as one reader said, “I am so sick of the political ads. I can’t wait for it all to be over with” ).
“Perhaps, but only after sufficiently assuring myself that I’m watching it hoping to learn something as opposed to how I watch NASCAR events–hoping to see a massive wreck.”
“Yes, if I’m home from early voting in time.”
“Can’t wait for the SNL skits…’
But this week’s Editor’s Choice goes to the reader who said, “Why again is it that 2 people will spend billions(?) to obtain a job that pays $400k a year? Hmm?”
Thanks to everyone who participated in our survey!
