Symons Capital Mgt. Offers Two New Mutual Funds to Institutional Investors

January 24, 2007 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Pennsylvania-based investment management firm Symons Capital Management has introduced two new mutual funds for retirement plans and other institutional investors.

According to a press release, the Symons Alpha Value Institutional Fund’s main objective is for long-term capital appreciation through stock investments that exhibit less volatility and are tilted toward capital preservation. The Alpha Value Fund will tend to feature stocks paying greater dividends and more diversification across market sectors and industries.

The Symons Alpha Institutional Fund’s objective is long-term capital appreciation through stock investments accepting a measured degree of greater volatility in exchange for an improved performance prospect and will tend to accept more measured risk in an effort to generate a higher return.

“Each fund will feature an equity portfolio built on our intellectually independent, original research,” said Michael Czajka, the firm’s Chief Executive Officer, in the news release. “With this introduction, our investment advice will be accessible to more investors looking for a carefully constructed portfolio with a focus on long-term results.”

Each fund will rely on Symons Capital Management’s research department for proprietary screens and fundamental analysis to identify stocks that are candidates for long-term investment.
