T. Rowe Price/Ernst & Young Offer Participant Advice

September 12, 2005 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - T. Rowe Price has announced the launch of its new personal finance platform offering more comprehensive financial planning services to plan sponsors for their employees.

In its press release the company said it has made an agreement with Ernst & Young to offer employers preferred pricing options for employee financial education and counseling services.   These services include:

  • Telephone access to Ernst & Young financial planners,
  • Group workshops,
  • Face-to-face counseling, and
  • Web-based learning and modeling tools.

According to the release, Ernst & Young financial counselors, through the EY Financial Planner Line, offer personalized and unbiased guidance on the following topics:

  • Investment allocation,
  • Meeting retirement objectives,
  • College savings,
  • Making informed decisions about health coverage and other benefits,
  • Estate planning,
  • Life insurance,
  • Debt management, and
  • Other areas of personal finance.

Ernst & Young also offers on-site financial education workshops on topics such as retirement planning, cash management, education planning, and becoming better health care consumers.

T. Rowe Price said in its release that Ernst &Young financial counselors will also learn the details of a company’s pay and benefit plans, enabling them to help employees understand and appreciate their benefits in the context of personal financial planning.  Ernst & Young financial counselors will not provide advice with regard to any specific securities or investments.
