T. Rowe Price Launches Four Advisor Class Funds

January 5, 2005 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - T. Rowe Price has announced the launch of four new funds in its Advisor Class lineup, which brings the number of funds that offer Advisor Class shares to 24.

The newest funds to have Advisor Class shares are:

  • The Capital Opportunity Fund, a research fund and active large-cap core strategy with a US focus. Thirty analysts will focus on picking stocks for the sector neutral fund, according to a press release from the company. Director of Global Equity Research William Stromberg will supervise the analysts and will have overall structural control of the fund. Richard Whitney will oversee the quantitative analysis.
  • The Real Estate Fund, a bottom-up real estate strategy that invests mostly in real estate investment trusts (REITs), and attempts to diversify across geography and sectors. David Lee will manage the fund.
  • The Short-Term Bond Fund, a short duration, fixed-income strategy that uses both top-down and bottom-up analysis with a focus on sector and industry diversification. The fund will be managed by Edward Wiese.
  • The Capital Appreciation Fund, a total return strategy that invests mostly in US common stocks. The fund will be managed by Stephen Boesal.

T. Rowe Price also announced that that the Capital Appreciation Fund has been added to the R Class product line offered by the firm, The R Class funds now number 13 in total. The fee on R Shares is 50 basis points. Advisor Class shares carry a fee of 25 basis points.
