The Hartford Beefs Up 401(k) Program Offerings

May 21, 2003 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - The Hartford Financial Services Group has spiffed up its The Hartford Advantage (previously known as the Director Advantage) 401(k) program with participant investment guidance, plan sponsor investment advisory services, and a retirement investing workshop series.

According to a company news release, the enhancements include:

  • Plan for Life Workshop series presenting the fundamentals of retirement investing based on the four stages of the career cycle: early career, mid-career, pre-retirement and retirement. Each stage of the cycle focuses on topics that are of likely concern to the intended audience. Topics such as diversification, asset allocation, and the time value of money help address the educational needs and concerns of 401(k) participants at the work site.
  • Morningstar ClearFuture, an Internet based tool that provides investment advice or guidance and is available to plan participants in The Hartford’s 401(k) program, through its Web site, Hartford Online .
  • Neuberger Berman Plan IQ, an investment advisory service to The Hartford’s plan sponsor clients. Through Plan IQ, Neuberger Berman will help plan sponsors select and monitor a plan’s investment choices and will assume the role of investment advice fiduciary.
