TPA to Deliver Elderly and Special Needs Patient Services for EAP

July 21, 2009 (PLANSPONSOR.com) - Broadspire, an Atlanta third party administrator of workers' compensation and liability claims and medical management services, will deliver Crawford Care Management services on behalf of Horizon Health, an employee assistance provider (EAP).

A news release said Crawford Care has onsite care managers who provide a variety of services to help the elderly and those with special needs. As a new component to the new service, called Horizon at Home, Crawford Care professionals will help special needs families assess their situations and provide detailed plans of action to use as daily guidelines.

“Horizon and Broadspire have developed this partnership to help employees who find themselves conflicted between the demands of their roles as caregiver and professional,” said Cindy Sheriff, president of EAP services for Horizon, in the news release. “The face-to-face assistance provided by professional care managers will help ease employees’ concerns and allow them to focus more on work responsibilities.”

The addition of Crawford Care to Horizon at Home’s services enhances the EAP’s ability to help employers and employees address difficult family care issues and ultimately improve productivity, the news release contended.
